When building a new home, or renovating, the position of windows and doors is usually determined by the flow of the house and the position of the rooms – but what if there was something outside the property that could factor in the decision-making?
If your property looks out on a building, monument, or some sort of compelling geographical element, it might be worth thinking about framing a view of this and turning it into a feature.
A tall window, well positioned, could draw focus to a particular tree or frame a view of hillside in such a way as to make it seem like part of your property.
With a little thought during the design process, you could use what lies outside your door to enrich the effect of being inside.
